☀️ An afternoon of learning and celebration! ☀️ Our Senator Gershaw Grade 4-6 students and Bow Island Elementary Grades 1-3 students joined forces today to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day! We were incredibly honored to welcome: Elder Jesse Plain Eagle from the Piikani Nation, who worked alongside some of our Grade 6 students to set up a our Senator Gershaw tipi. Jessica Goodrider, who captivated our students with wonderful storytelling. A huge thank you to Mrs. Hanna for making delicious bannock and sharing the history of how this traditional food is made! It was a truly memorable afternoon of listening, learning, and community for all of our Grade 1-6 students. 🧡🌾

🍩 Donuts with Dad! ☕✨ Yesterday morning, we kicked off the day in the best way possible! We had an amazing turnout of dads, grandpas, and father figures join us for a great morning filled with coffee, juice, and plenty of doughnuts. A massive thank you to our Student Council and Mrs. Hanna for organizing and putting on such a wonderful event! 👏❤️ To all the incredible dads and father figures in our Senator Gershaw community—Happy Father’s Day tomorrow! Recently, members of the Bow Island Legion visited our school to personally present awards to the winners of the Legion Art and Writing Contest.
